Handstands on Body Parts

Handstands are challenging wherever you do them, but the most challenging kind of handstands arguably are the ones we do on other human beings because balancing on limbs is way more unstable than the floor, blocks or canes! Here we present a progressive series of handstands on various body parts, ranging from an easy assisted lift to more challenging variations. Don't be discouraged if you aren't nailing these because they definitely take some practice!

Acroyoga- Chair

When I first started learning acro this was one of my favorites. It's fun, it's silly, and it's actually quite safe for beginners! As a base, you can really dial in the complexities of the feet, and my personal favorite benefit- it's basically giving you a sneaky flexibility boost. As the flyer, know that your feet are much much closer to the ground than your head (it can feel extra scary up there but in reality you're quite close to the floor!). Throne to Foot to Hand Connected Pop

This is one of the most accessible pops that winds up balancing on the bases hands. While not a large pop it can teach us a lot about integrating tempo to time our pop as well as how to use just the right amount of throw to get the flyer where they're trying to go. We also dive into the key points for basing, flying and spotting this skill.
