All About Whips
In this series, Sean & Emily teach everything you need to get started in your whips practice. A whip is a dynamic L-basing skill where a flyer swings with momentum through positions. This series is designed for acro practitioners who feel very comfortable with static L-basing poses and transitions. In these lessons we explain terminology of whips, body positioning, progressions and self spotting to lead to safe, predictable and stunning whipping skills.
Acro Therapeutics is a practice using acrobatic basing to invert, stetch and traction a flyer. This series takes you through the foundational postures of acro therapeutics as well as some of our favorite variations and transitions. We've also some non-flying bodywork sequences for some grounded therapeutics.
In this video we demonstrate and describe the different types of whips. Whips are an Acro skill in which the flyer swings on the bases feet from one position to another. Enjoy this overview, and further videos will dissect the specifics of the skill.
Giving and Receiving
In all of partner acrobatic practices it is important to have open and clear communication as you move together. When we are working with a therapeutic practice we often aren’t face to face with our partner so it’s important to us verbal communication and make sure both partners feel safe and relaxed.
